Chris Hadland is a cinematographer whose work shifts between narrative, art, documentary and commercial— finding joy in each form. Growing up in northwest Minnesota he got his start working on indie features and commercials in the camera department, learning that the harsh elements can teach the best lessons. 

He now lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two cats but travels often.  His work with artist Doug Aitken has taken him all across America, Europe and the Middle East. 

He’s attracted to ambitious projects and loves a worthwhile challenge. His attention these days is on narrative and loves shooting and exploring forgotten places in the world.
